Melbourne October 2014

To celebrate Tanya finishing her thesis, we went on a surprise trip to Melbourne. I had a sleep on the plane which caused some weird looks from our fellow passengers. We were staying at the Rydges Hotel in the city which was really nice with a great location.

As we were quite hungry, we went to China Town on Little Burke St. There were so many options that it was very hard to choose. We found a little place that made dumplings fresh from scratch – they were delicious. Also, the portion sizes were huge! Overall it was a great place that I would highly recommend.

For dinner we found a cool little place called, Mrs Parma’s which specialises in the art of schnitzels. They even have a Dim Sim schnitzel but we opted for a more traditional choice. A traditional and a spicy pepperoni which were both so delicious. For dessert we found a place called Passion Flower which it specialises in. We ordered chocolate crepės with strawberries + chocolate mousse. Wow, Melbourne sure knocks Brisbane out the water for delicious food.

After dinner and having heard great things about the movie, Gone Girl, we decided to head to the Kino Palace cinemas and see it for ourself. It was an amazing film which really messes with your mind, even days after.
